Karamvir Dahiya

Karamvir Dahiya (Karam) is a 1997 graduate of Harvard Law School, with MA/LLM degree from Spain (Onati International Institute for Sociology of Law) and received an LLB degree from University of Delhi, India.

Karam is tireless advocate for his clients in New York City in federal and state courts for wide ranging matters related to business torts, foreclosure actions, and bankruptcy.  He has asserted and aggressively sought constitutional protection through habeas and mandamus writs for his clients—both individuals and institutional. He has, further against jurisdictional and statutory odds, successfully taken the cases out of the non-constitutional courts, like bankruptcy and immigration tribunals, to the federal district courts for a fuller and better adjudication of the clients' claims including those related to constitutional protections and privileges. He is regularly called upon by his colleagues and clients in matters and complex issues dealing with consumer protection laws related to TILA, HOEPA, RESPA, New York state usury laws, and high-cost loans, including those proscribed under the RICO statute.  He has specialized knowledge in bankruptcy law representing debtors and creditors regarding initiation of Chapter 11 cases (including removal of state actions to bankruptcy court), confirmation of Chapter 11 plans, sale and purchase of estate properties including 1031 exchanges, reinstatement of mortgages, preferential or fraudulent conveyance actions, discharge objections, and related adversary or contested matters.  In sum, Karam offers his clients competence, zealous advocacy, and results.
